3rd Nov 2007 has been written a black day in the history of Pakistan. On this

Please post a protest message on your website against this draconian act.

We feel that it is the responsibility of all law-abiding men and women,
regardless of nationality, to join hands against such draconian steps. We must
join hands together to tell the dictator that we cannot sit back and see him
deprive 160 million people of their basic human rights.

The National Union of Pakistani Students and Alumni (NUPSA-UK) is holding a
protest at Consulate of Pakistan in Birmingham on this Wednesday the 7th of November at 1400hrs.

The imposition of this emergency is aimed against democratic rights, the rule of law, and civil liberties in Pakistan.

The house arrests of the Chief Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry, Aitizaz Ahsan, Imran Khan, Asma Jehangir, Javed Hashmi, Asfandyar Wali Khan, Gen (retd) Hameed Gul and others, the siege of the Supreme Court, the abrogation of the 1973 constitution, the hijacking of print and electronic media in Pakistan, the arrest of students and professors and other such measures undoubtedly demonstrate that this state of emergency is aimed against the democratic forces of the country.

We call on all the supporters of democracy to rise in this time of crisis and join us in protesting against this undemocratic measure.

We hope that you will join us.

Students Protest for a Free Pakistan
The revolution is not an apple that falls when it is ripe. You have to make it fall.
Time and Place Date: Wednesday, November 7, 2007
    Time: 2:00pm - 5:00pm
    Location: Outside SZABIST University
    Street: F-8
    City/Town: Islamabad, Pakistan

The time has come for US STUDENTS to stand up against the tyranny of a dictator. We must join hands with the countless citizens already protesting for our safety. From LUMS, Punjab University to Quaid-e-Azam University protests have started. They have blocked our news coverage, our link to what is happening! The future is OURS and it is being held hostage by one man who wants to cling to power. A man who cares not for Pakistans future, OUR future.
We must join hands and protest for our rights, we must join hands to protect what is ours, and not someone elses to hijack

The main London vigil will take place outside the High Commission (35-36 Lowndes Sq, SW1X 9JN, London), but everyone’s encouraged to organize their own small vigils wherever they can, and if they’re on facebook to post pictures of their vigils on the Facebook Group ‘Society for the Objection to Emergency Rule in Pakistan’. Hello all,

Today (06-11-2007), Pakistani Community in Netherlands gathered in front of Pakistani Embassy in Den Hague to protest against Martial Law in Pakistan. This call was given on Sunday night (04-11-2007) on PKPOLITICS and on Monday it was announced on PKUNITED. With in 36 hours, we have arranged police permission, poster preparation, banners, press release, media coverage (Geo+ Dutch channels), and time from the ambassador as well. Most of the community people join us hand by hand. We also invited some human rights observers. Few of them were also came to join us. Most of Pakistani people send us emails with positive responds and excused that due to short notes unable to join the gathering.

Protest has been started at exact 12:30 in the protection of Dutch police and under the coverage of International Media. We have protested one complete hour in front of embassy in well-organized way including few speeches + enthusiastic poetry + National anthem by young professionals. The Press release and English translation of poetry was distributed to all people around. The whole protest was based on the following points
    1. Stop: butchery of judiciary
    2. Release: Top 60 judges
    3. Restore: freedom of media
    4. Give: Basic human right to 160 million people of Pakistan

After this three of us went to submit memorandum to the ambassador but respectable Ambassador was in prestigious (?) meeting. Anyway after few minute “dialogues” with embassy people, we (only two of us) succeeded to enter in the embassy and submitted the memorandum to him. Its important to mention that we cleared all gathered people as well as to embassy that this protest is not against the employees working there but against Martial Law.

After this the whole gathering marched to the International Court of Justice with our banners and posters. We also stand in front of the ICJ. One of us has speech there and rest raised slogans to compel them to condemn the military action against Supreme Court. We also submitted memorandum there. The whole programme is finished with National Anthem. At the end we acknowledge the cooperation and supports of other communities especially Dutch police.

aoa all while watching live coverage of the house foreign affairs committee in regard to political unrest in pakistan,mr negroponte been sort of appologitic on questions raised to him by different congressmen.what concluded the whole session as to my view is that there is a gradual shift of change in attitude in us for the support and favour for musharraf as DOES US HOLD A MUSHARRAF POLICY OR PAKISTAN POLICY? was the question came out..there been debate on issues like IS THERE ANY CONCRETE US ROLE AND SUPPORT TO FACILITATE THE PROCESS OF DEVELOPING UNDERSTANDING FOR POWER SHARING BETWEEN MISS BHUTTO AND MUSHARRAF?
nawaz sharif was nowhere in the whole debate as obviously he,having no lobbying push for himself which is gonna help miss bhutto to be ahead of him in this situation..
the question regarding musharraf support against war on terror also came under severe criticism as MUSHARAF IS NOT DOING ENOUGH TO IDENTIFY OUR REAL ENEMY was the reason put behind the question and to highlight it more some of the congressmen and women allegedly said HE HIMSELF, ISI AND OTHER AGENCIES BEEN SUPPORTIVE BACKDOOR TO THE WHOLE PROCESS WHICH PUT COUNTRY WELL DIVIDED IN TWO SECTS I,E,MODERTES AND EXTEREMITS.
the whole session was really held in figuring out the imporatnce of US INTERESTS not PAKISTAN.
so waht i came with view is that how long we be relying ppl sitting afar in their houses and chambers discussing and deciding how to influence us, tell us what to do and what not to do and how to run our country…
i believe that the longer we keep getting away with it the way we doing now,the worse the situation is going to be
MAY ALLAH SAVE OUR COUNTRY AMEEN….

Dear Admin and all others I would propose that a joint action committee be constituted quickly. This committee can send immediate advise to all the co-ordinators for administering the demonstrations. If we want to have good turn out in the demos then it should be organzied well. Very few in and around Manchester knew about the protest today so the turn out might be low. Pl do not take it as criticism we should work together. There is a huge Pak community in and around Manchester. Concentrate on Manchester for organizing a big protest. This can be as effective as protesting in London. Let us get together. UK co-ordinator should take interest. Any help that I can provide, let me know, my number +447886537660. Remember the fauiji junta seems to be in control as they are organized!

    Dear all,

    Assalamu alaikum!

The Pakistani community in Paris and France is being mobilised against the brutality of the Musharraf regime. The imposition of martial law which has led to illegal detentions and torture of the Pakistani civil society including the lawyers, judges and students must be brought to an end. The Constitution must be restored, the judges reinstated, the innocents in jails released and democracy and human rights restored in our nation.

It is to this end that we must all strive to end his brutality. Hence, a protest has been planned. Details are as follows:

    Day and date: Saturday, 10/11/2007
    Place: Place de Trocadero
    Time: 1300 hours
    Metro: Trocadero (Line 6 & 9)

Our aim is to stand together with our people, to send a message to the Pakistani authoritarian regime that their days are numbered and that we detest their actions.

    For justice, equality and freedom!

Thank you for having this website. There is Rally organized by the US National Lawyers Guild in Portland, OR USA for the “Emergency Situation in Pakistan” and the wrongful arrests of lawyers, human rights workers, and others. Please try to attend or raise awareness.
    Date/Time: Friday, November 9, 2007 from 5 to 7 PM
Place: Pioneer Court House Square, Downtown
    City: Portland, OR United States

*U.S. LAWYERS STRONGLY CONDEMN STATE OF EMERGENCY IN PAKISTAN*

*PORTLAND LAWYERS** **DEMONSTRATION CALLED FOR FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 9** TH**
AT 5:00 P.M. AT PIONEER COURTHOUSE SQUARE*

    Contacts:
Steven Goldberg, National Lawyers Guild Int’l. Committee, 971-409-2918
Will Seaman, Portland Peaceful Response, 503-888-7455

Lawyers’ groups throughout the U.S. – including the National Lawyers
Guild, the American Bar Association, and the National Association of
Criminal Defense Lawyers – have condemned the State of Emergency imposed
on the people of Pakistan and the attacks on lawyers and the judiciary.

*A demonstration has been called for Friday, November 9**th** at 5:00
p.m., at Portland Pioneer ** **Courthouse Square (SW Broadway and Yamhill,** **southwest corner) *, to demand that President Musharraf immediately withdraw the emergency declaration of November 3, 2007 which suspends Pakistan’s Constitution. Musharraf’s declaration includes suspension of the right to life and liberty, freedom of speech, assembly and association, and equal protection of the law, all of which are guaranteed by the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights.

Pakistani Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammed Chaudhry is being held under house arrest, and over 2500 lawyers in different parts of Pakistan
including the President of the Supreme Court Bar Association and other leaders of the Bar have been detained. Journalists said the government
ordered that journalists who brought “ridicule or disrepute” to Musharraf could face three years in prison.

The real motivation for the emergency declaration “is not to defend the country against ‘Islamic extremists’ but to maintain Musharraf in power” says Steven Goldberg, a member of the National Lawyers Guild’s
International Committee. The State of Emergency was declared after the Supreme Court indicated it would overturn the results of the illegitimate election that preserved Musharraf’s rule. Musharraf seeks to prevent public protests that lawyers and political parties have been
    organizing.

U.S. lawyers demand the immediate release of the lawyers and others in custody and/or house arrest and withdrawal of all other political restrictions. The National Lawyers Guild further urges President Bush and Congress to discontinue all aid to Pakistan until the state of
emergency is lifted, the Constitution is no longer suspended, and Musharraf provides assurance that the January 2008 elections will
    proceed as planned.

    PLANNED SPEAKERS:
    Steven Goldberg
Portland attorney and former co-chair of the National Lawyers Guild’s International Committee. Mr. Goldberg is one of the attorneys representing Al-Haramain Islamic Foundation in its challenge against the Bush administration’s warrantless wiretap program.

    PRESS RELEASE
    Berlin, 10 November 2007

Pakistanis Protest against the civil and human rights violations in Pakistan by General Pervez Musharraf
    We the people
Pakistanis living in Germany strongly condemn the imposition of martial law in Pakistan by General Pervez Musharraf on 3rd November 2007. The harassment of judiciary, ban on independent media, violations of human rights and mass arrests of thousands of citizens during the last week are dictatorial acts that cannot be justified under any law. We demand an immediate and unconditional lifting of martial law and return to democracy.

We believe that the reasons given by General Musharraf for imposing martial law are completely false. This actions has been taken by Musharraf to extend his own rule. While this was clear from the onset, government’s crackdown against the civil society since the Martial law has removed any doubts whatsoever in this regard.

Pakistanis from all walks of life and residing in different cities of Germany express their anger over the suspension of the Constitution of Pakistan by a military general.
Students, professionals and Pakistanis from all sector of society having different political affiliations, have joined hands to express their support for the honorable judges of superior courts, who are a direct target of these Draconian measures of General Musharraf. We also pledge our support for the lawyers, students, political and human right activists and all people in their struggle against the dictator.
We can upon the world to unite behind the people of Pakistan in their struggle against dictatorship and tyranny.

We demand an immediate return do democracy and free and fair elections. We demand that the judiciary be restored to the same sate as prior to this Marcia law, ban on Independent media be lifted and all political and civil activist be released.

More than 350 Pakistanis from all over Germany participated today in protest against the civil and human rights violations in Pakistan.
photos and video is comming soon.

    Hello All,

Pakistani community in the Netherlands, students, professionals are very much concerned with this entire prevailing situation in Pakistan. We condemns the actions of Pakistani military, the butchery of justice, the strangulation of independent media and the arrests of political workers and human rights activists are crimes under the international law and Pakistani constitution. All the Pakistanis in the Netherlands and every human being who loves democracy, peace and justice demand the immediate and unconditional return to democracy.

The Pakistani students in the Netherlands will organize a peaceful protest in the Hague on 1st December 2007. Protest will start at 13:00 from the Hague central station and will end in front of the Dutch Parliment.

I don’t understand the point behind protesting outside 10 Downing St. or Parliament Sq. Our fight is against our self imposed milirary Govt. We should demonstate outside Pakistani High Commissions/Embassies all around the world. Please schedule a protest in London at Pakistani High Commission.
